2018 Playoffs Round 3

Don’t forget, you are likely still playing for a better pick, so make sure to keep your rosters updated.

Congrats to Bauhs and Mark for making it to the championship! They were both able to take down the #1 and #2 seeds to make it here. Good luck to them both.

2018 Playoffs Round 2

No huge shakeups to speak of in round 1. All of the higher seeds won. Over in the loser bowl though, I won my first game of the season, So I got that going for me.

Good luck to all in Round 2!

2018 Playoffs Round 1

The games have been set! Congrats to all who made it to the playoffs. You are in, now anything can happen! Please remember there are NO pickups once week 14 starts so please get those picks in tonight.

The light division bracket is actually the EXACT same as it was in 2017 which is kind of interesting. Jon enters the playoffs on a win after experiencing his first hiccup to The Future (of all teams).

Don’t forget to look at the bracket, even if you lose, you are still fighting for picks!

Trade Deadline, Playoff Picture

Eleven weeks in the books and the trade deadline is fast approaching. Do not forget that Trade Deadline is NOVEMBER 28th! Also do not forget the pickup deadline is BEFORE the start of week 14. Get your playoff rosters in order. That being said, lets see who even needs to worry about a playoff roster…

Right off the bat you can go ahead and eliminate my team (Aaron it Out) as well as Al’s team (The Future). The top 4 from each division make it so pretty much everyone else is in the hunt.

Dan D, Mark, Jon and Bauhs have all clinched which makes 2 teams from each division all set for a playoff run. Currently in the LIGHT division Kevin and Erick are holding down the remaining two spots but Walsko and Weber could easily make the jump. This makes the Walsko v. Erick matchup in week 13 especially juicy! Currently Walsko owns both Head to Head’s that he needs against both Weber and Kevin.

Over in the Premium division; Nick and Craig are currently locking down the remaining two playoff spots but like the light division, that can easily change. Zach and Dan H are simply one game back from jumping into one of those spots. Zach plays Nick this week making that a VERY important game for both teams. Zach is in good shape owning the Head to Head against Craig and Dan H. He basically just needs to keep winning and he is in.

If that wasn’t enough excitement for you, Dan H plays Craig amoutning to basically a playoff game. Dan H, of course, is coming off a huge deal which bolsters his roster this year for a run. Dan H REALLY needs to win though because both Zach and Nick own the Head to Head over him.

Good to all in the hunt! Anything can happen, you just gotta make the playoffs.

Sorry Men, Trying to Stay Motivated

As commissioner I have tried to make the league more exciting than just the “put your lineup in every week” leagues. Forums, videos and posts like these are about all one can do. Lately I have been MIA, party to do with business of life but mostly to do with my 0-7 record. I must stay more involved even though my season is over.

That being said, wow, congrats to Jon. I am not sure what the longest someone has remained undefeated is but I can tell you that 3 people have gone 11-2 (best record). Visit the trophy room to find out who. Spoiler alert: one of them is currently 0-7. Craig, Nick and Bauhs are also putting together some nice seasons. Nick led by his great RB’s (too bad Ajayi went to IR), Bauhs making deals to stay in the mix and Craig with his KC duo of Hunt and Hill while getting the better of the big Ertz/Kelce trade. Ertz currently the #1 overall scoring TE.

Not much to say on the LIGHT division side, basically everyone is relevant and in the mix (except me). A large majority of the division has a losing record and the top is 4-3. Luckily anything can happen in the playoffs, you just gotta get in (see Rick’s championship). We are about half way to week 1 of the playoff now, so it is time to start honing in on your rosters. Make smart moves, savvy trades and get you free wins again my squad.

Good luck to all in Week 8!

Excuses are like Assholes. Don’t Read This Post.

Warning: This is going to be very much like a rant. Recommended not to read!

What did I do to the Fantasy football gods? Why have they forsaken me? Yes my team is not playing AMAZING and yes my RB1 is on IR, but 0-3? It just doesn’t make sense, so I dove deeper. This league right now is FULL of misleading records. Currently I have the 3rd most points in my division (7th overall) and the most points against in the entire league, BY LIKE 70 POINTS (120 points more than the lowest points against)! Right now, Fantasy football is BULLSHIT. The good news is, that means it is super realistic because the NFL is also complete bullshit. This roughing the passer thing needs to be figured out. This is not just bitter Packer fans losing their minds; commentators and fans nation-wide are in agreement. I did not hear one take that either of Clay’s hits should have been a penalty, not one. Lets not even talk about MNF! Was there like 7 roughing the passer calls? These are typically massive momentum and game changing calls!!! Until this year, I was never the person concerned about the NFL “getting soft.” Protecting players brains makes a lot of sense to me, but this is not that. This is complete and utter bullshit.

All that being said, let me spend some time looking at all your shitty teams;

Through 3 weeks, Jon’s team is clearly the team to beat again this year. Current reigning  champion raining down 380 points is no doubt impressive. That is the most points in the league by a staggering 50 points. Nearly 100 points more than a lot of teams. The only other undefeated team is Nick who comes in with 311 points, 69 points less. 311 is good for the 4th most points though and a blessing of a schedule has allowed Nick to remain undefeated. At the end of the day, who cares about points, gotta rack up those wins now to make the playoffs.

The entire Premium League is basically 2-1, so I won’t get too deep into them but if I don’t at least mention someone they cry for weeks about how I don’t pay any attention to their pathetic team. So here we go;

Namb I Am – Props for coming out hot in your first year in the league. 329.2 points is good for 3rd most and basically a tie for 2nd most (332). A 2-1 record is probably under-achieving with that amount of points, but I don’t really want to hear about it (see above).

Football Cheesus – Currently without a QB, maybe he can look to make a trade with DTM whom he had the pleasure of beating up on this week. Sitting at 2-1 he has to be pretty happy, pretty inline with his point total of 309.

Reek Havoc – Sitting at 2-1 is a goddamn gift from God at this point. with 2 points less than me (295) and still able to muster 2 wins, please give thanks to your creator.

Fresh Prince of Gordon-Air – Same as above. I do have some advice though; maybe play OJ Howard? Just a thought. I don’t know how long you plan on skating by with your 294 point total squeaking out wins but if you plan to win this year without Bell, you might want to start master-minding some trades.

The Future – God I hope not, because if so, the future looks BLEAK! 1-2 with a 279 point total, oof. You also got your first win this week playing Weber who couldn’t muster 80 points. Don’t start someone who is out again (Fournette) or I will have to put you on probation!

I guess that brings us to the Light Division. Fitting name at this point. The leader is 2-1 with 315 total points, good for 4th highest league wide. Kevin finished 2nd last year so it is interesting to see the 1st and 2nd place finishers atop their divisons.

Then we have a depressing run of 1-2 teams with some 0-3 finishing it out. Not great boys.

Fighting Armadillos – One possible exception the the depressing comment above; Armadillos has the 2nd highest league point total. Perhaps they can bitch as much as I have.

Johnson and Johnson – Somehow this ridiculous team has a win, I am still trying to figure out how that is fair? One of the lowest point total in the league (270) and they have more wins than me. By they way, this is all with the greatest fantasy GIFT of all time; James Connor. Where the hell would this team be with Royce Freeman as RB2?!

Please do not keep reading if you enjoy happiness.

It’s Miller Time – This once removed champion and then 3rd place finisher is in a dark place. Seriously, this team having 1 win is the reason I think about ending it all at night. Essentially tied for the lowest point total in the league (technically second lowest 267.9) and still has a win. Demaryius Thomas is just a sad shell of himself at this point.

Team Bombien – LORD GIVE ME THE STRENGTH! We arrive on the lowest point total in the league and guess what?! Yes, a win on the board (1-2). His opponents have averaged 86 points against him, of course the lowest in the league, an actual 120 points below the highest (ME!). Major RB2 questions has to keep him awake at night.

DTM – Dan joins me in the 0-3 club with 275 points. More than some teams with a win but still good for 4th lowest. Desperate for an RB2, maybe I can help him by making that QB-RB trade love connection with Bauhs.

So there you have it, I warned you not to read this. I have been in an awful Fantasy Football mood today, getting beat up all over the place. If you are a gluten for being miserable and made it to the end; good on you. Good luck in week 4, I hate every single one of you. Feel free to talk shit about my team in the comments.

Week 1 Update – Video Updates? Stay Tuned

Hey League –

I know you are all yearning for a video update. I will start those back up as soon as possible. Some of you know I am in the process of moving and building so my time has been pretty slim lately. I do have time for a post update though!

Starting out, it is hard not to mention Dan’s video post calling out the league and Weber. While I commend his willingness to put himself out there, it made a brutal defeat even worse. From out of no where, on Monday night, Jared Cook comes on to make sure Dan cannot post a follow-up. Instead; Weber got the last laugh.

The current reigning champion had his team rolling again in week 1. Jon had major performances at all skill positions from everyone except his RB2. Erick did not stand a chance even with a 42 point performance from Brees and a 22 point performance from his rookie Shaquon Barkley. Everyone else on his roster dwindled in the single digits.

Bauhs was not far behind for top score, his team was also running on all cylinders. He had great showings from his studs in Julio, Brown and Gronk. Unfortunately i was lucky enough to run into that buzzsaw this week. I had disappointing starts from both my running backs and it appears Amari Cooper still sucks.

Next came Nick’s team with 121 points. He made sure to text me to let me know that all 4 of his running backs scored over 20 points. Obviously with a 41 point from Kamara, it is really hard to lose. However, Mixon and the Rams D did also NOT disappoint. DTM had the pleasure of playing Nick but it probably didn’t matter much who he played. He has a disappointing 71 point outing. One bright spot is his new QB in Mahomes who put up a flashy 38. Zeke and Allen also put up good scores but the rest of his team utterly fell flat.

3rd place Kevin had a good outing with 115 points led by a 40 point performance by Rivers. Mediocre but solid days by the rest of his squad except for Emmanuel Sanders who overperformed with 25 points. Newcomer Zach got a taste of what this league is all about, falling short with 100 points. He had some pretty decent outings from his squad overall, led by Evans.

Craig was able to take down Mark 106 – 89. Craigs team won but was very unbalanced. He had a 42 point outing by Tyreek Hill and a 23 point outing by Goff. Pretty much everyone else fell flat. Hopefully Hill can keep putting up 40’s. Mark’s team generally had a disappointing outside of Brady and pretty decent 13 point outings by both receivers.

Don’t forget, its only week 1! Craig seems like it was a good time to turnover a lot of his players but most people held firm. I will echo Dan’s call for MORE TRASH TALK. Post it, video it, tape it, makes the league more exciting for sure.

Lastly, Game of the Week clearly goes to last years chanpionship with Jon and Walsko.

Good luck to all in week 2, except for Dan, who might want to change his team name. Fresh Prince of Bell-Air? Not sure your prince is leaving the castle for a LOOOOONG time. Might want to address that.
